Our Story: Built for a Changing Retail Industry
Supporting Australian retailers for over 50 years — from single stores to national rollouts.
Apex Display has been part of the Australian retail industry since 1972, evolving alongside the way stores are designed, built, and merchandised. What began with mannequin production and display services grew into a broader shopfitting supply business as retail needs changed.
Over time, we saw a consistent problem: traditional shopfitting systems were rigid, expensive to update, and not built for modern retail.
That’s why we developed UniSlot™ – a modular shopfitting system designed to give retailers the flexibility to adapt, reconfigure, and evolve their stores without full refits. Today, we work with independent retailers, national chains, and industry professionals to deliver flexible, scalable retail environments across Australia.
Our History
Spanning over 50 years in the retail industry, Apex Display began cultivating their industry insights and expertise in the 1970’s, crafting display mannequins using paper mâché under Apex Models Co, owned by Mr William Walker.
Over time the skills and knowledge of the team grew and the Apex Display Services was born, creating ticket writing for various department stores. Ronald Kenneth Reoch II bought the business from Mr William Walker, combining the two companies into Apex Display Services & Importing Co focusing their efforts on mannequin manufacturing and repairs.
During the early 80’s Apex Display Services saw a shift in the retail industry and expanding their service offerings to include more display products. During the early 90’s, Apex Displays sold the mannequin production portion of the business and separated the umbrella of Apex Models Co, further expanding their range to now include retail store consumables.
In 2004 the team at Apex Display began focusing their knowledge and expertise on supplying quality shopfitting solutions for their customers. They soon realised a gap in the market for high quality products that would provide the modular flexibility retail store owners were needing. UniSlot was developed and introduced to the public in 2019, where Apex Display have continued to focus on developing high quality display solutions for the retail industry.
